Anyone pre-registering after January 30th will not be able to be added to the Tshirt so please register by then! A limited number of TShirts will be available at the door for $25. The venue will be the Sports Academy Athletic Center in Thousand Oaks, Ca. The venue is over 90,000 square feet. Event parking will be $7 per car per day. There are plenty of designated spaces available.

Please fill out the online waiver form located at https://www.smartwaiver.com/w/56faeb80762d0/web/ for your fencer. This should be done before the tournament. Thank you for your time.

For refund of event fee(s), withdrawals must be received via email no later than the Monday two weeks before the first day of the tournament. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Refunds are processed 2-4 weeks following the tournament.

***********************IMPORTANT NOTE*************************
The Conductive Bib is now Required at all USFA events!!!
In the 2011-2012 season, the USFA began to transition to the conductive bib format for foilists. As of August 1, 2012 the ruling now expands to cover every foil tournament that is USFA sanctioned and held to USFA rules.

Also, the new saber timing and en garde rules are in effect until further notice by the USFA.

Trainer will be onsite. Also, Alliance fencing equipment from San Francisco, CA will be the equipment vendor.

Food and beverages will be available for sale with the designated caterer Farm and Flame. Coffee, etc. will also be sold at the inside cafe.

(The USFA requires that organizers pay a $5.00 RJCC support fee per each registrant. This fee is included in the registration fee.)

Registration may be done either on-line or at Swords Fencing Studio. Fees must be paid to be considered registered. If you have not paid you are NOT registered and must pay the higher fees after February 10th, 2017.

Registration fees are non refundable. Requests for event fee refunds must be submitted by Feb 15th, 2017.

T-Shirts are available for pre-order. Please pre-order by January 25th, 2017. A limited number of shirts will be available for sale at the event.

USFA Membership – USFA rules will be enforced. All fencers must be current members of the USFA . Proof of USFA membership is either an unexpired membership card, an email from the USFA or listing on the USFA website. Membership forms will be available at the tournament or may be downloaded from the USFA website. If proof of membership is unavailable fencers will be required to submit a new membership application form with payment at the door. No exceptions.

The USFA is working towards an age verification process. This season, parents should come prepared with ONE of the following in case the fencer’s age needs verification for eligibility purposes:
A government issued photo ID with date of birth included
A copy of birth certificate

Weapons are checked (weights and shims) during pools and direct eliminations for all events. Only masks, gloves, lames, and body cords will be checked. Names on jackets or lames are not required.

This event will help fencers qualify for the July Challenge 2017 and Junior Olympics 2018.

************** Points Information ***************

Regional points are awarded to all competitors in each event, with first place earning 100 points and others receiving proportionally fewer based on the size of the event.

For Junior Olympics, fencers who are in the top 25% of their region’s points standings at the entry deadline OR who have earned at least 110 points are qualified.

For the July Challenge, fencers who are in the top 50% of their region’s points standings at the entry deadline OR who have earned at least 65 points are qualified.

This event is in Region 4, which includes California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Fencers from outside Region 4 are welcome to fence, but only Region 4 fencers will earn regional points.

Points are awarded based on the new USFA points guidelines.

************** Event Seeding *****************

Fencers’ classifications and club and division affiliations will be validated against the USA Fencing membership database as of February 23rd, 2017. It is the fencer’s responsibility to ensure that USA Fencing has properly recorded any necessary changes or corrections prior to that date. No classification or affiliation changes will be made at the event.

Per USA Fencing guidelines,
Regional points will be awarded for all events except for the Open Mixed events. Seeding is firstly by national points, secondly by ranking.

Eligible Birth years:

Cadet: 2001-2004 or Y14 NRPS
Junior: 1998-2004 or Cadet NRPS
Open: Born in 2003 and earlier

Online registration opens on 10/16/2016.
Online registration closes on 02/24/2017.
